About
About Wheel Strategy Guide
Who writes this site, what the point of it is, and what it explicitly is not.
The author
Wheel Strategy Guide is written by Blane Jackson, DDS/MBA. I am a dentist by training who owned and operated eight dental practices before selling them in 2026. I am not a licensed financial advisor, not a broker, not a professional trader. I am an operator who ran a systematic options wheel through the liquidity event of a practice sale and continues to run it as part of a post-sale capital strategy.
Why I write this
When I started running the wheel seriously, every public guide I could find either stopped at the mechanical explanation ("sell a put, collect premium, repeat") or was selling a $3,000 options course. I could not find a straightforward, discipline-focused reference written by someone who had actually run the program for years with real capital at stake.
This site is my attempt at the reference I wanted. It covers the mechanics, the greeks, the discipline framework (the Repeatability Gate) that keeps the program systematic, and the operational playbook around assignment. That is it. There is no course, no subscription, no affiliate link.
What this site is not
- Not investment advice. I am not licensed to give investment advice, and nothing on this site constitutes it. Everything here is general educational writing about how the options wheel strategy works in principle and how I think about running it in practice.
- Not a recommendation for any specific security. I will not tell you which underlying to wheel. That decision requires knowledge of your own financial situation, tax situation, risk tolerance, and investment objectives.
- Not a sales funnel. There is no product for sale. No course. No paid community. No "DM me for signals."
- Not a promise of returns. Options trading involves substantial risk of loss. People lose money running the wheel, particularly when they violate the discipline framework. Past performance is not a predictor of future results.
